What
Is A Personal Care Home?
A
personal care home provides a place to live for many elderly and
mentally or physically disabled persons who are unable to care for
themselves but who do not require 24 hour nursing services in a licensed
nursing care facility.
In a personal care home, meals are prepared, linens
provided and clothes laundered. Residents receive assistance with
personal hygiene, with bathing and dressing, with medications, with
making phone calls and with correspondence. They may also be offered
assistance with obtaining transportation to appointments and help with
their personal finances.
Socialization,
activities, and contact with community services are arranged. Assistance
is provided to access both emergency and on-going health care services,
which can include visiting nurses, in-home rehabilitative therapy
services and medical testing
Who BENEFITS from a Personal Care Home?
At Trigg County Manor, we have some of the most
interesting residents you could ever meet. World War II Veterans,
Mothers, Fathers, Teachers….we have a diverse population with diverse
experiences and knowledge.
Some of our residents came to live at the Manor
because they did not or could not live alone. Some residents have chosen
TCM because they prefer to keep their independence but want a place
where they can receive around the clock assistance.
A
Personal Care Home is a perfect place for those who do not need the
level of care that a skilled nursing home provides but still have a need
more supervision than living alone provides.
HOW DO WE SERVE OUR RESIDENTS?
We serve our residents with the Golden Rule in mind.
With over 25 scheduled activities per week and around the clock
medication personnel, we aim to make every resident’s stay a
pleasurable one!
Our dietary supervisor
is in charge of serving tasty meals three times a day with beverages or
snacks between each meal. Coffee breaks are scheduled daily.
Resident laundry is laundered and returned to each resident daily.

...You can tell this is a good place to work because of the staff that have
worked here for years and years. If you can’t be at home, this is the best
place to be.

here because they're good to me. Irene and Pat take care of me."--Margie
